20 Cheese Plate Ideas You Have To Try Now

A Cheese Plate can be the center piece of any party, small-gathering or conversation between friends. Not only is it easy and fun to put together, but it’s absolutely delicious – and pairs perfectly with wine!

A good Cheese Plate usually incorporates a few essential elements. Starting with around 4 staple cheeses. Try a soft cheese, a semi-hard cheese, harder cheese, and an aged cheese. This will create a great variety for everyone’s palette. Then accompany with the pairings!

Our Cheese recommendations are:

  • Aged Cheddar or Goat Gouda
  • Constant Bliss or Camembert
  • Manchego or Mimolette
  • Gorgonzola, or Stilton

Usually a good Cheese Plate will have one bread or cracker, one in-season fruit, one jam or compote, and two savory options like, pickles and salami. Remember, these are just the staples of a good Cheese Plate. You can always put your own twist on it, and we encourage you too! As you will see in the photos below, there are some fun additions you can incorporate into your Cheese Plate.

Some additions that aren’t always on a normal Cheese Plate, but can really compliment the flavors are additions such as honey, nuts, herbs, and preserved vegetables.

Our compliment recommendations are:

  • Lightly salted Marcona Almonds, walnuts or pecans
  • Basil, mint, tarragon, chives and radish
  • Artichoke hearts, pickled vegetables, peppers

Last but not least, we’ve got some serving tips for you!

Our Serving recommendations are:

  • Label the different cheeses (you can make your own name cards or buy them at many specialty food stores)
  • Set out a different knife for each cheese
  • Separate wrong smelling cheeses as to not overpower more delicate ones.
