The vineyard view rooms at Yountville’s newly remodeled Napa Valley Lodge showcase more than just the neighboring grapevines. They mark the source of the lodge’s own wine, under a label called Bella, for the Bella Cabernet Sauvignon plot that resides just outside the hotel’s suites wing.
Bella, which means “beautiful” in Italian, is also the name of the hotel’s Bella Vista suite. Set directly over the vineyard, the second story oasis offers beautiful vistas – or views – of the same grapes. It’s a small plot, and a precious one, producing just one barrel each year of premium Cabernet Sauvignon to be enjoyed at the hotel’s VIP events.
Recently, the Lodge owners added a new garden and fountain at the vineyard entry, and opened up first-floor suite patios for direct access to the greens. It’s just one part of the revamp of the Tuscan-style wine country property, with all the 49 rooms and suites refreshed, and amenities upgraded.
All rooms boast private verandas, walk-in showers and marble vanities, and some rooms have fireplaces. Many complimentary amenities abound, like a full complimentary sparkling wine breakfast buffet with hot dishes including eggs and sausage, plus luxurious bites like smoked salmon, fresh baked pastries, and Greek yogurts. A glass of sparkling wine greets guests on arrival, alongside free bottled water, free fresh-baked cookies, and hot tea and coffee in the lobby.
There are also complimentary wine tasting evenings every Thursday and Friday, hosted by a local winery. It certainly helps set a friendly kick-off for you to explore the surrounding town, with its world class restaurants, wine tasting rooms, shops and the Yountville Art Walk of more than 30 outdoor sculptures paving the way to several fine art galleries.
On-site hotel parking is free, but walking is one of the great joys of the town, stretching just 1.5 miles end-to-end. You don’t need a car – most visitors simply relax, and hire a car service to deliver them to Yountville and pick them up at the end of their vacation.
And while enjoying the resort space, guests lounge at the sparkling pool, in the whirlpool spa, and on the hammock amid the manicured gardens. A bocce ball court beckons, as does a well-equipped fitness room. For even more pampering, spa services can be enjoyed poolside or in your own guestroom.
For an extra special luxury occasion, the 800-square-foot Napa Bella Vista suite features a king bed, a wood-burning fireplace, a bright and sunny sitting room, and a two-person soaking tub with jets plus a huge glass walk-in shower.
Bringing the ultimate indulgence, staff will even deliver your sparkling wine continental breakfast directly to your Bella suite, to enjoy on your private veranda overlooking those lovely Bella Vista vineyards.
